Custom tables in solid wood and steel, made in Saumur

The top is solid wood. The base is steel, cut and TIG-welded in the workshop, then painted. You give the length and width to the centimetre, and every product page works out the price at once.

The base: steel welded in the workshop

Three designs. Mikado: 80 × 80 mm steel tubes crossed under the top. Croix: a steel X at each end, leaving all the room for legs. Brindille: a bunch of rods bent one by one. The Mikado base also carries the river table and the garden table. Every base is welded in the workshop, then painted in the colour you choose.

Made in Saumur

Nothing is kept in stock. When you order, the steel is cut, welded and ground in the workshop, then painted. The tops of the Mikado, Croix and Brindille tables are finished with hardwax oil; the Mikado Outdoor table gets an outdoor oil, and the river table pairs oak with a pour of epoxy resin. Allow 6 to 8 weeks for making on most models; the exact lead time is on each product page or confirmed with the quote. We deliver anywhere in mainland France by carrier. Within 200 km of Saumur, the workshop can also deliver and fit the table, priced by the distance; or you can collect it from the workshop.

Frequently asked questions

What size for 6, 8 or 10 people?

Allow about 60 cm of table per guest. Catalogue sizes: Seats 6 — 150 × 90 × H 75 cm; Seats 8 — 200 × 100 × H 75 cm; Seats 10 — 240 × 100 × H 75 cm. Between two sizes, enter your dimensions: the product page works out the price.

Which wood should I choose?

Oak is the workshop's reference: hard, blond, with a strong grain. Walnut is brown and darker, with a rich grain. Beech is pale, with a fine, tight grain. Pine is the softest: it marks more easily, but a mark sands back out. On the Mikado, Croix and Brindille tables, all four are finished with hardwax oil.

How do I care for an oiled top?

Wipe up spills straight away with a soft, barely damp cloth, and put hot dishes on a trivet. When the wood looks dry, a coat of hardwax oil restores its protection; a scratch sands out lightly, on that spot alone.

Can a wooden table stay outdoors?

Yes, that is what the Mikado Outdoor table is for: a top of solid oak slats, spaced so rain runs off, finished with an outdoor oil, on a base painted for outdoor use. Allow one coat of oil a year, or let the wood go grey if you like the patina.

Can I have a timber or a shape outside the catalogue?

Yes, on quotation. Tell us the shape or the timber you want: we adapt the model and price it.

A table outside the catalogue?

A particular shape, timber or size: describe your project and we will reply with a price.
