Our story
Auboiacier is a metalwork workshop in Saumur, in the Loire Valley. It is run by Quentin Aumercier, a welder and metalworker trained on building sites and in workshops, in France and then in Australia, where he spent several years with a maker of backlit stretch ceilings. He brought back a method: measure right, weld clean, finish without compromise. Back in Anjou, he opened the workshop to make tables, staircases, railings and light ceilings — one piece at a time, to order, for customers who know what they want.
Our craft
Everything is made here, in Saumur. The steel is cut, TIG-welded and ground in the workshop; the solid wood is cut, glued, sanded and oiled on the same bench; the aluminium frames of the light ceilings are mitred and fitted to the millimetre. Nothing is subcontracted, nothing is imported.
What that means for you: dimensions held to the millimetre, full welds that stand up to a close look, finishes that age well. And a piece we know by heart — if it needs attention in ten years, we know exactly how it was made.
